Question 1

Do I own the finished website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once it's paid for, the site is yours. On the build-only option you get the files to host anywhere; on a hosting plan I keep it running for you, and you can still take the files and leave with 30 days' notice.

Question 2

What if I want to leave later?

Accepted Answer

No lock-in beyond the first 12 months. After that the hosting is rolling and you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. I hand over the files and help you point the domain wherever you want.

Question 3

What counts as a minor change on managed hosting?

Accepted Answer

Text, photos, prices, opening hours, swapping a section around — message me and it's done, no per-change fee and no limit. New pages or new features are quoted separately so you always know the cost up front.

Question 4

Do I need to know anything technical?

Accepted Answer

No. The only thing you buy yourself is the domain name (about £10–£15 a year) so it's in your name, not mine — and there's a step-by-step guide for that. I handle hosting, setup, SSL, everything else.

Question 5

How does the pay monthly plan work?

Accepted Answer

Nothing up front. The full build fee is £850; on this plan you pay £46 a month for 18 months (£828 in total) covering the build, hosting and unlimited minor changes while you're on the plan. The site stays on my hosting during the term and the files become yours once all 18 payments are made. After that it's £10 a month rolling for hosting, cancellable any time with 30 days' notice, or you can take the files and leave. Missed payments pause the site until the account is up to date.

Question 6

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

Usually 1–2 weeks from the point I have your details and photos. You see a real working version early and tell me what to change — there are no per-revision fees.
